Let me start off by saying that I blame my mother for all of this. At a young age she got me hooked on illustrating fun and weird characters in a game she called Mysterious Corpse. It’s basically a gateway game to harder stuff like illustrating and designing a full paper goods line worth of eccentric, yet lovable, characters.
Since 2015 I have been sharing these goods with the world as Kat French Design. Each item begins with hand-illustrated pieces that I then finesse digitally. I love mixing old and new illustration techniques to develop my quirky items along with bright colors and spot-on sentiments. My work is all about having fun.
Today, my items can be found online and in stores across the country. Every card is printed on 100% recycled paper in the USA and paired with a recycled kraft envelope. All designs and orders are created and processed in my home studio just north of Dallas, Texas.
This last May I was honored to be a part of a new store that opened in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. I joined forces with eight other local makers to create the Mosaic Makers Collective - a shop full of amazing one-of-a-kind goods. Learn more here.
When I'm not designing or wrangling kids, I am either sleeping, watching Netflix or fiddling around on my Fender Jazz bass alongside my guitar-toting husband.
Thanks for visiting! ~ Kat
